How the Blue Light Discount Works at Wagamama

Wagamama gives Blue Light Card and Defence Discount Service holders 20% off food. Not the whole bill: food. Drinks are charged in full, which is the one detail people most often get wrong when comparing it to the student offer.

It covers the cardholder and up to five guests, so a table of six is the practical limit. It runs on any day the restaurant is open, which makes it more flexible than the student discount, and it works across all wagamama restaurants in England, Scotland and Wales.

Blue Light or Student Discount, Which Is Better?

If you hold both, the answer depends on the day and the order. The student discount takes 20% off everything including drinks, but only Sunday to Thursday. The Blue Light Card takes 20% off food only, but works Friday and Saturday too and covers a bigger table.

For a table of two with drinks midweek, the student discount usually wins. For a Friday table of six, the Blue Light Card is the only one that applies at all.
